On the 25th September all pupils took part in a workshop with the charity Changing Faces. Ex pupil Hannah Archibald is a member of their Youth Action Group and she came back to her old primary school to help lead the workshop. It was a great session and was very thought provoking. It made everyone think about how to treat people with a visible difference. Hannah answered the questions set to her very honestly. Well done Hannah. We are all very proud of your hard work with Changing Faces.

This was the headline in the local paper this week as HMIe published their inspection report following their visit in June.
The newspaper report read:
One of Clydesdale’s small but highly valued schools has passed its latest inspection by Education Scotland.
The inspector spoke of Crawford Primary School in glowing terms, saying its main strengths were: ” The caring, inclusive environment where children are well supported through a collaborative approach from a whole school team. Children who are well behaved, confident and articulate.
They are supported by strong parental partnerships and take a pride in their school and community.
Strong relationships and a positive climate for learning. These are fostered by the headteacher and staff team.”
All staff and pupils are delighted with the report and look forward to continuing to work as a team.
The pupils of P4-7 are thoroughly enjoying their literacy topic this term. They have all embarked on a reading challenge to read as many Roald Dahl books as they can. Each week they are studying a different novel and doing various activities related to the book. Last week they created a Roald Dahl writing hut after reading about it in one of his books.
The pupils are busy planning a Roald Dahl event to be held in school on Thursday 10th October.
Jack, Callum and Kayleigh enjoying a quiet reading time.
Mr Johnstone is visiting Crawford every Tuesday to work with P4-7 on music skills. Last Tuesday was great fun. Tristan had brought in a jumbo foot piano and Mr Johnstone used this in his lesson. The pupils had a great time playing a game. They will definitely make more use of this instrument.
Barry from Zoolab came to school last Monday with some friends to show the pupils. He had a rat, a snake, a ghekko and a spider. The pupils learned all about these animals and were able to hold or touch them if they wanted to. What a great start to the week!
